The Grand Luau at Honua'ula
Rating: Very Good!
Location: Grand Wailea Resort, Wailea
**Prior to June 24, 2010, this luau was held at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort and Spa - since it's changed locations, a few reviews have trickled in, and so far, people say it's better than the average luau!

Te Au Moana
Rating: still fairly new... unrated
Location: Wailea Beach Marriott Resort and Spa
This resort used to host "Wailea's Finest Luau, Honua'ula" until it moved to the Grand Wailea in June 2010. So, this luau is actually relatively new as I write this, and therefore unrated. I can't wait to see how this addition to Maui's luau scene turns out!

Rating: still fairly new... unrated
Location: Makena Beach Resort and Golf Club
This luau was launched on June 7, 2010, and is therefore too new for any rating yet... Yet another Maui luau that I look forward to seeing some day!

As for the ratings... the best of the best means just that. These are the very best luaus that Maui has to offer. If a luau is rated merely average, don't let that deter you from going if that ends up being all you can get into. I've been to several average luaus on various Hawaiian islands, and I can honestly say that I enjoyed every single one. Are they as good as the best of the best? Of course not... but that doesn't mean that they are worth overlooking completely either! And that leaves the "very good" luaus. These fall somewhere in the middle.
